Recognizing Excellence

The designation of “Kiwanian of the Year” is awarded annually to a Lincoln Center Kiwanis Club member who excels in service and support of Club activities.  Qualifying service can be to various committee service projects, to fund-raising activities and to Club administrative support.  The recipients of this award demonstrate extraordinary personal commitment to the goals of Kiwanis

Distinguished Service Award

Kiwanian of the Year

Since 1922 Kiwanis of Lincoln has been acknowledging exceptional community leaders with the Distinguished Service Award.  This prestigious award is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service to the public on a local, state and nationwide scale, independent of their career.

Kiwanian Newcomer of the Year

The person receiving the Newcomer of the Year Award is selected from those members who joined Kiwanis sometime during the immediately preceding eighteen month period prior to the date of selection.  The recipient will have demonstrated through action and Club involvement exceptional commitment to the purposes of Kiwanis in general and to the support of The Lincoln Center Kiwanis Club in particular.

Past Presidents

Since its inception in 1919, The Lincoln Center Kiwanis Club has been led by many outstanding men and women.  The roster of Club Presidents contains recognizable names of many Lincoln and Nebraska leaders and scholars.

The “Theo Rose”

In memory of a devoted member, T.O. Haas, each week a rose is given by the club president to a member or guest in recognition of a special personal event or contribution to the club.  Haas began the tradition in the summers bringing a different rose hybrid from his garden each week for the club to give to a deserving member.
