The Youth Activities and Program Committee (YAP) provides service and activities for school-age youth in Lincoln and Lancaster County.
Activities and programs include, but are not limited to the areas of: safety, academic support, mentoring, civic involvement, citizenship, character building, youth development, recognition, nutrition, business exploration and leadership development.
Special projects include recognizing Outstanding 4-H Clubs, sponsoring and staffing bicycle safety and rodeo events, supporting children who attend Kiwanis Camp O.K., contributing to and assisting with the community Food Backpack Project and nutrition education, conducting and annual Kiwanis Karnival with 4-H clubs and elementary school students, serving as an active VIP partner with Elliott Elementary School, sponsoring and volunteering with Cub Scout Pack 404, sponsoring high school students in attending and learning at Boys State and Girls State, sponsoring high school students to attend Key Leader training, supporting and leading Junior Achievement (JA) classes, and actively advising the high school Key Club at the Zoo School. Promoting reading at Everett Elementary with Read Around the World activities, and experiences in TeamMates mentoring.
